February 22nd, 2023

The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) has gazetted the acquisition of Jurong Country Club (JCC) for the construction of a high-speed rail terminus.

This marks a major milestone towards the completion of the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail project. The terminus will be located in the western part of Singapore and will be connected to the rest of the country via the North-South Corridor, the Circle Line and the Jurong Region Line.

The JCC was chosen as the site of the terminus due to its strategic location and its existing infrastructure. The site is located near the Jurong Gateway area, which is home to a variety of business, residential and leisure facilities. The site is also well-connected to the rest of Singapore via the North-South Corridor, the Circle Line and the Jurong Region Line.

The terminus will be a key component of the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur High-Speed Rail project, which is scheduled for completion in 2026. The project will reduce the travel time between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur from the current eight hours to 90 minutes.

The land acquisition of the JCC will involve the purchase of the golf course, clubhouse and car park. The clubhouse will be converted into a station building and the JCube Condo golf course will be used to build the track. The car park will be used for passenger pick-up and drop-off and for parking.

The project will also include the construction of a new pedestrian bridge that will link the terminus with the nearby Jurong East MRT station. The bridge will provide direct access to the North-South Corridor, the Circle Line and the Jurong Region Line.

The SLA has also gazetted the acquisition of a nearby property for the construction of a residential development. The development will include a mix of public and private housing, retail and commercial space. The development is expected to be completed by 2027.

The gazetting of the land acquisition marks a major milestone towards the completion of the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur High-Speed Rail project. The project will reduce the travel time between the two cities, bring economic opportunities and create new jobs. It will also enhance connectivity in the region, making it easier for people to travel within the region.

The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) has announced the gazetting of the acquisition of Jurong Country Club (JCC) for the construction of the high-speed rail terminus. This news comes as a major surprise as the JCC is a well-known recreational facility in the western part of Singapore.

The SLA will acquire the land at the JCC where the new terminus will be located. The project will be led by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA). This is the first time that the SLA has gazetted a project of this magnitude in Singapore.

The Jurong Country Club is an iconic facility in Singapore’s western region. It has been a popular destination for golfers, joggers, and families looking for a place to relax and unwind. It is also home to a number of restaurants, cafes, and other recreational activities.

The high-speed rail terminus is expected to be the largest of its kind in Singapore. It will be linked to the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur High-Speed Rail project. This project is part of the larger East Coast Rail Corridor, a key infrastructure project that will connect Singapore and Malaysia, and ultimately link Singapore to southern China.

The JCC’s land acquisition is a major step forward in the development of the high-speed rail project. It will allow the LTA to move forward with the construction of the terminus and related infrastructure. This will pave the way for a more efficient and cost-effective transportation option between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

The SLA has also taken steps to ensure that the land acquisition is fair and equitable. It has sought to ensure that the rights of existing members and users of the JCC are protected. The SLA has also taken steps to ensure that the land acquisition is carried out in a transparent and accountable manner.

The announcement of the land acquisition of the JCC is a major step forward in the development of the high-speed rail project. It is expected to bring significant economic, social, and environmental benefits to Singapore and the region. The development of the high-speed rail project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
