Jurong Gateway is home to a variety of conserved buildings and gazetted monuments, which are of immense historical value to Singapore. As such, it is important to ensure that these buildings and monuments are preserved and conserved properly. In this regard, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has put in place a comprehensive set of guidelines for the preservation and conservation of gazetted monuments and conserved buildings in Jurong Gateway.
First and foremost, the URA requires that all gazetted monuments and conserved buildings be protected from further damage or destruction. This includes maintenance of the existing structures and features, such as walls and roofs, and any additions or alterations that are necessary to preserve the building’s original character and integrity.
