Jurong Lake Waterfront to Offer Continuous Access with New Family-Friendly Recreational Uses
The Jurong Lake District will soon be home to a new waterfront experience, which will offer continuous access along the Jurong Lake with a range of family-friendly recreational uses. The development will transform the waterfront into a vibrant area for leisure and recreation, with a range of activities for everyone to enjoy.
The project will be led by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), in collaboration with the National Parks Board (NParks) and other stakeholders. The plans include a continuous stretch of waterfront promenade along the lake, which will be lined with landscaped gardens, cycling paths and pedestrian walkways. This will be complemented by a range of family-friendly recreational activities, such as water sports, cycling and jogging trails, as well as food and beverage (F&B) outlets.
The focus of the project is to create a vibrant and inviting waterfront experience, and to make it accessible to everyone. To this end, the URA is also looking into introducing more public art and interactive installations within the area, as well as developing a range of public spaces for people to relax and mingle. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
The revitalisation of the Jurong Lake waterfront is part of the larger plans to transform the Jurong Lake District into a new business district. The area is set to become a major employment hub, with over 100,000 new jobs created by the 2030s. With its close proximity to the Jurong East MRT station, the area is set to become one of Singapore’s most sought-after locations in the near future.
In an effort to bring more recreational activities and amenities to Jurong Lake District, the Singapore government is developing a waterfront promenade along the lake. This new development, which is slated to be completed in 2027, will offer a continuous pathway along the lake and provide a family-friendly environment for leisure and recreational activities.
The waterfront promenade will stretch from the Jurong East MRT station to the Jurong East Integrated Transport Hub and will feature a range of activities and amenities for the public. There will be a mix of outdoor and indoor areas, including green spaces, rest areas, play areas and water features. There will also be a selection of cafes and restaurants, as well as a range of retail outlets.
The waterfront promenade will be a great spot for families and friends to enjoy a day out. Visitors will be able to take in the picturesque views of the lake while walking along the path, and they can also take part in various activities such as cycling, running, and fishing. There will also be a range of water sports facilities, including kayaks and paddleboats, to keep visitors entertained.
The waterfront promenade will also serve as a great spot for events and activities, such as concerts and performances. In addition, the promenade will provide a great backdrop for photography, allowing visitors to capture some stunning views of the lake JCube Condo and surrounding area.
The Singapore government is also developing a range of new pedestrian and cycling paths, making it easier for visitors to explore the area. This will be a great way for visitors to access the waterfront promenade and enjoy its various activities and amenities.
